I’m not sure if I’m the only one out there who has a problem with scenario-queues lately, but in the last couple of days it rarely happened that I entered a scenario and was happy because I could expect a decent fight.
Most of the time the scenario is already running for several minutes and the general direction of the outcome is.. set. When it happened that I was there at the start..well, then we were approx. one group vs. 2 full groups.. or the other way around.
So despite the general getting crushed by premades..or steamrolling the enemy (because most scenarios end to be a spawn point camping..it’s just a question which spawn point is being camped.).. you also face the problem with lopsided number of combatants in the beginning of the scenario.
I wonder if that problem could be solved by increasing the preparation timer from 30s upwards to maybe one or two minutes? If the scenario pops up, you may already delay the entering by one minute… so why start the scenario 30s earlier than those people who have to think about it (or delay it for another reason) may decide?
I would like both sides ready for the fight and not that imbalanced stuff I currently face…at least number wise a balanced start shouldn’t be that much of problem. I’m not even talking about setups..just numbers.
I keep it short and simple as I don’t want to enrage ;)
Mythic added to freenown from zone locking now freeloot in unbalanced city sieges..
…more to come after more testing of the siege.
ultra-short version: Up to now..I just don’t like (maybe even hate) it.
It’s been a long weekend with little time for WAR..but finally (after one year) my Runepriest got his name back.
It happened that at the server transfer back in may 09 I had to change my name from Karic to Carik..with no Karic present on the destination server I was quiet frustrated that I had to change my name. I had a weird error message when trying to add him to my friend list, so it couldn’t be order or destro and there was no sign ever of a Karic on the realm war page.. I tested it all.. but no Karic out there.
So I wrote an ingame ticket asking if my name could be changed…but nothing happened.
So last friday I tried for the first time to write a ticket using the web-interface..and voila.. I have my name back! Thank you very much.
That was my highlight gaming wise in the last days.. In some next post I will write what I think about the city siege changes and patch 1.3.5.
Meanwhile.. Prost! (my little lecture on German?! ;) ) .. The next round is on me. ;)
With all the new blogs popping up in the WAR blogosphere it’s hard to keep up with an actual list of WAR blogs. I hope that my blogroll is somewhat up to date..If I have forgotten you..please contact me and I will add you.
A blog you should definitely check is from Thrangis.. It’s a journal about the adventures of a dwarf and I really like the unique style of it.
Go check it out for yourself ;)
Just had to laugh about this post on the US-forums.
You want healz? You can’t handle the healz! …
Now I need Jack Nicholson to scream that to those who complain about healing and healers.
So.. Bright Wizards and Sorcerer will get some nerfing in patch 1.3.5. In general this is a good way.
The question is, is this the right way to nerf bombing? Reducing the damage output of the PBAE-attack is not necessarily the right way as it could bring the spell to uselessness. Another route which could have worked is reducing the stacking of those pbae-attacks. So let those bombs build up combustion.. let them hit for 2-3k with their pbae-attack (maybe even less), but let it not stack with the other pbae-attacks from the same career. Maybe even make this a rule for all direct aoe-damage. This would enhance the damage of the Magus und Engineer with their ae-dots too, as they now have a chance to do damage and not apply the dot and see their target bombed away. So it would level the rdps-careers to some extent.
What would be the result? Well.. AE would still be useful, because you can still deal a good amount of damage. But putting two bombs tightly together wouldn’t mean that they’ll be effective enough to kill whole warbands. So this nerf would affect only those bombing-warbands. Bombing in small-scale fights is not affected that much and I think that this is ok. Bombing remains somewhat useful, but isn’t the ultimate weapon for every situation.
We’ve seen that sort of nerf to Rain of Fire and Pit of Shades and it changed the way they are being used quiet drastically. I think that this kind of change would be good to the PBAE-attacks of the Bright Wizard and Sorcerer..
